Re: the photos. How did the seal scale a three-foot wall? Was there a trampet? A freak wave? A pyramid of goal-oriented brother seals?

Have just booked The Lives of Others on your recommendation, Helen!

I thought the problem with Cornwall is that it's too close to London. Enjoy Galapagos!

The play is greater than the sum of its parts, of which I am one. It’s been fascinating watching a cast, who weren’t even born when it was written, discovering the political anger of the way we were then. They don’t think like that now, maybe the stakes are too high. It’s also very entertaining. T^

Thanks for recommending Eurotrash - that had passed me by somehow! Tickets are very limited now so I’d have likely missed getting them without the prod!

The Galapagos have just bolted up my bucket list...

And I have booked two sets of theatre tickets on the back of this! I hope Jonathan Groff is worth the schlep.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2026/05/06/eco-activists-polanski-green-party This reminds me of that article from a previous bluestocking about the US environmentalist group that went tits up when some people started saying wolves didn't have enough to do with diverisy, equity and inclusion

How allergic to subtitles are anglophone audiences? The original TLOO is so amazing I wouldn't dare ruin its memory by watching a remake.

I already have tickets for Glengarry so I feel smug now

Surely the 1800s were too late for anyone to be carrying around a monarch's heart in a casket... If it were the 1500s I'd swallow that one.

I can thoroughly recommend Pride at the National Theatre. I recently saw it at the Sherman in Cardiff, and despite not being a fan of musicals, I was bowled over.

Well worth the two hour journey from my home in West Wales!

No mention of Teeth 'n' Smiles at the Duke of Yorks with the wonderful Rebecca Lucy Taylor

No, because I don’t have tickets to that.
