On Naomi Klein, in similar vein I was taken aback in Doppelganger by her accusing Lord Salisbury (Victorian prime minister) of wanting to wipe out 'inferior' peoples (indigenous peoples according to Klein) and when I took a closer look it was pretty clear she was misrepresenting him. Again, there's plenty of bad things about the British Empire, no need to make stuff up, but it's all fits in with a preconceived narrative. I thought of writing a substack about it - perhaps I will.

Maternity care in the UK is an incredible worry. Yes - this is based on the long-term injuries of my mother-peers and myself, so is anecdata at best, but it is an area that does need an urgent, urgent review.
