I might be in the minority in having long been a subscriber to both Blocked and Reported and Embrace the Void (I'm SJW and IDW-curious, but a fully paid up member of neither...) Really enjoyed your appearances on both - a soundtrack to my wanderings around the Peak District at Xmas. As it happens, I'd recommend Jesse Singal's appearance on Embrace the Void as an example of productive disagreement

One response to the content:

“Am I the only one who finds Russell Brand downright repulsive?” 🧐🤣

A fair question. I really thought over posting this because I normally say supportive things. But giving this man any authority is disturbing to me. So, here’s a try:

His appearance-deliberately slovenly, constant fierce glaring*, including the bared teeth expressions (or micro expressions) and overly widened (ie. deliberately, as in “acting”) eyes; said teeth and eyes showing evidence of poor health—especially as compared to a photo of him a mere ten years ago, when he still looked okay. It’s not a case of simply being ill, it’s a schtick. When a person learns from their previous mistakes they look better, not worse. I should take advice from such a person? Note that what he may say has not been mentioned; that wasn’t what was being asked here, as I understand it.

*Which glaring a lot of these guys do, whether neat or not, nb. Peterson, Carlson, Shapiro. Frowning, glaring, looking arrogant, eyebrows recruited to the cause; oh come on, why does this work? Is it identification, or some unconscious fear of a mean daddy?

Spooky - I was just going to listen to the last Gurus episode again (couldn't take it all in at once) and this popped up in my feed. Really enjoyed Gurus.
