I recently likened Simon Allen's Watch series to a candidate going into an exam and pulling all the stops out to write the best essay they could, leaving the exam hall really pleased with how well they did, and getting no marks, because however good it was, they didn't read the actual question

I'm the creator of /r/discworld. While we welcome anyone wanting to discuss this inspired-by (I refused to call it an "adaptation"), I created flair (sort of like a tag or categorization) specially for it that is required to be used on posts about it. This helps those in our fandom avoid such submissions. Alas, being the moderator, I still have to patrol the comments and remove those who exhibit un-Pratchettean behaviour by losing their cool with the folks who either like the TV show or at least - before it came out - hadn't heard of all the problems and were waiting to give it a chance.

I still welcome fans of this show into the subreddit, as we welcome all things Discworld. But really, I hope they give the books a chance and discover the true joy of Discworld.

I, along with so many others, cannot sufficiently express my disgust at the completely boneheaded barely-use of the source material. Fair enough on them trying to spread tolerance for humans persecuted for being different. But boo on them for destroying Discworld to tell a completely different story with virtually no relation to the material and probably ruining our chances for good Discworld adaptations.

I wouldn’t watch Anne With An E for messing about with beloved character; I sure as hell won’t put up with the desecration of Sam Vines.

And poor Cherry, what a car wreck.

I'd really rather pull hot irons from the fire and insert them through my eyesockets into my brain than watch this filthy travesty.

Just that picture of Angua and Cherry, with the flipping fan and plastic kettle, are enough to break my heart.

The part where Carrot is gently scolded by Angua on Cherry's pronouns is literally in the book Men at Arms. And your description of Cherry as "male and non binary" is so far beyond missing the point that I honestly don't know where to begin

Interesting review that seems to echo much of what I've been hearing, but... Agnes Nitt absolutely returned in Carpe Jugulum, which is fantastic.
