I spent £2,000 on Ruby the guinea pig’s hysterectomy
Your shout out for the Don Camillo stories made me very happy. They have stayed with me since I read them as a youngish child raiding my parents’ library when I ran out of Biggles books. I now realise how lucky I was in my parents’ wide range of literature that few of my contemporaries seem aware of - and of the comparatively small amount of Young Adult books at the time that forced me to forage among the more grownup authors...
Is “donating to sex workers” a euphemism?
So Right It’s Ron
i devoured don camillo books as a child/teen. all from the public library in Southport!
Ahahaha perfect essence-of-bluesky
Even better than the guinea pig’s hysterectomy - Julius the tortoise won our hearts – then died of a broken penis (Guardian 25 July). You really couldn’t make it up
Thanks for the crossword suggestion! That was great fun, and my son came in from walking the dogs just for the fun part at the end.
Don Camillo is one of my faves. Thanks for the link. Lovely story.
Finally someone who agrees with me on Doctor Semmelweis!
Thank you so much Helen for sharing the Don Camillo love!
